Kochi: The seventh edition of the India Boat & Marine Show (IBMS) will be held at Bolgatty Event Centre, Kochi, from January 22 to 24. Over the previous six editions, the event has emerged as the country’s premier boating, marine and water sports industry-related expo.

More than 55 exhibitors will display their products and services at the expo. Around 4,000 business visitors from all over the country and international trade buyers from the Middle East and SAARC region are expected to attend the expo, according to the organisers.

Announcing the event at a press meet, Joseph Kuriacose, director of Cruz Expos, organising the event, said Kochi has become a hub for shipbuilding and repair with the new projects being commissioned at the Cochin Shipyard.

“The projects will not only boost infrastructure but will also provide employment and support to small and medium enterprises. Against this backdrop, this year’s event will include a full range of stakeholders in the recreational and leisure boating market, including speed boats, marine engines, kayaks, steering systems, navigational systems and other marine equipment and service providers,” he said.
