'Manoramaonline' bags WAN-IFRA award for best South Asian news website again

Chennai: ‘Manoramaonline’ has bagged the WAN-IFRA South Asian Digital Media Award (Gold) for the best news website for the third year in a row.

'The Quint' has secured the silver medal, while the Bronze medal went to 'Bloomberg Quint'.

Malayala Manorama publication ‘Vanitha’ has won the Bronze award for the best audience engagement.

The awards will be presented during the virtual South Asian Digital Media conference to be held from March 8 to 10.

An international panel of media experts picked the winners from more than 140 entries in 10 categories. The winners will advance to their respective world digital media competitions.

‘Manoramaonline’ secured over 30 international accolades, including the International News Media Association global gold award in 2020 and 2021, and the WAN-IFRA's international award in 2016.

The Manoramaonline mobile app, that provides real-time news updates and features in both English and Malayalam, is hugely popular too.

Vanitha had won the gold medal in the social media engagement category in 2019, and the silver medal in the digital native advertisement category in 2020.

WAN-IFRA or the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers is a non-profit, non-governmental organization.
