Chennai: Popular South Indian actor Meena's husband Vidyasagar passed away on Tuesday. He was undergoing treatment for Covid-19 at a private hospital in Chennai.
Vidyasagar was suffering from lung-related ailments. After contracting Covid-19 last January, his condition worsened. He was admitted to a private hospital with lung infection a few days ago.
Though a lung transplant was recommended, the surgery was prolonged as a suitable donor was unavailable.
"It is shocking to hear the news of the untimely demise of Actor Meena's husband Vidyasagar," tweeted actor Sarath Kumar Tuesday night.
Vidyasagar, a Bengaluru-based IT professional and Meena had tied the knot in 2009. The duo has a daughter 'Nainika'. Nainika has acted as Vijay's daughter in the film 'Theri'.
