A day after being suspended from the BRS, senior leader K Kavitha announced her resignation from both the party and her MLC post on Wednesday, openly criticising cousin and former minister T Harish Rao. Kavitha, daughter of BRS founder K Chandrasekhar Rao, said there was “pressure” on her father to act against her. She accused Harish Rao of conspiring against KCR’s family and of aligning with current Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, reported PTI.

Flanked by supporters at a press conference, the 47-year-old former MP said she never aspired for posts and was sending her resignation letters to both the Legislative Council Chairman and to KCR. Kavitha warned her brother and BRS working president K T Rama Rao to be cautious about alleged conspiracies within the family. She also claimed he did not support her during a “malicious campaign” targeting her.

She further alleged that the CBI probe into irregularities in the Kaleshwaram irrigation project stemmed from corruption involving Harish Rao and Santosh Rao. Kavitha clarified she would not join another party for now, adding her next move would follow consultations with supporters.
