New Delhi: Delhi Police on Sunday confirmed the arrest of godman Chaitanyananda Saraswati from Agra in connection with charges of sexually harassing 17 students at a private institute in the capital.

Officials said a police team tracked down the 62-year-old accused in Agra following a specific tip-off. Investigators had earlier frozen assets worth ₹8 crore linked to Saraswati, including funds parked across several bank accounts and fixed deposits.

As per the FIR, Saraswati, who formerly chaired the management institute in southwest Delhi, compelled students to visit his residence late at night and sent them inappropriate messages at unusual hours. He is also accused of monitoring the students’ movements through his mobile phone.
