Kochi: The Kochi district administration and an NGO, 'Anbodu Kochi' (With love from Kochi), have launched a hashtag campaign, #DoforKerala, for the flood-hit people, who have been put up in the relief camps across the state.

A drive has been launched at the Rajeev Gandhi Sports Centre (RSC) in Kadavanthara to collect essential goods for those affected by the heavy rain and floods that wreaked havoc in the state.

The drive is being spearheaded by Ernakulam district collector Mohammed Y Safirulla and special officer M G Rajamanikyam.

The centre has received groceries, clothes, first aid, sanitary products, notebooks and school bags as donations.

The team has also posted a list of essential items that public can contribute on its Facebook page.

The list includes packed provisions, ORS packets, electrolytes, water purifying chlorine tablets, anti-septic lotions, clothes, school kit and food items.

Cash or used goodies will not be accepted. The counter will be open from 9 am to 9 pm.
