Abhimanyu murder: Lookout notice against eight accused

Kochi: The police have issued a lookout notice against eight of the accused in the Abhimanyu murder case. Muhammed, a student of the Maharaja’s College and Campus Front unit president, is already in custody.

The lookout notice names other key accused Muhammed Hashim of Nambiputhalath House, Panavally in Ernakulam; Tanzil, who lived in a rented house at Karingambara; Sanid of Mekkatt House, Masjid Road; Fayiz of Paliyath House; Arif Bin Saleem of Chamakkalayil House; Shifas of Veliparambu House, Kacheripadi; Sahal of Mekkatt House, Masjid Road and Jisal Rasaq of Puthuveettilparambil, Palluruthy.

The notice has been issued by the Kochi city police.

Apart from Maharaja’s College student Muhammed, Saneesh, a native of Palluruthy, is also in police custody.

The Kerala High Court had earlier granted conditional bail to accused number 22 Anoob and accused number 23 Fasalu.

Meanwhile, the police have intensified the search for 13 persons who were directly involved in the murder. The police are planning to file a charge-sheet at the earliest against 16 accused to check their move to secure bail.

Abhimanyu, an SFI activist and a student of Maharaja’s College, was stabbed to death on the campus on July 2.

The main accused in the case are Muhammed Rifa, the state secretary of Campus Front of India; Saneesh, who brought a four-member gang from Palluruthy to the college and Muhammed, the student of Maharaja’s College.
