Captain Raju laid to rest at hometown

Raju's body was kept at the government higher secondary school, Omallur, on Friday afternoon.

Kochi: Malayalam actor-director Captain Raju, who passed away on Monday, was laid to rest on Friday with military honours at St Mary's Orthodox Church, Puthenpeedika in Pathanamthitta.

The body was kept at the govtment higher secondary school, Omallur, from 2 pm till 3.30 pm and then at a relative's house.

The body was kept in Ernakulam North Town Hall from 7.45 am to 10 am for the public to pay homage. His son Raviraj, who resides in the US, reached home on Thursday.

People from various walks of life including political leaders Ramesh Chennithala, Benny Behanan, K Babu, actor-MP Innocent, film director Siby Malayail and script writer S N Swamy paid their last respects to the late actor.
