Film, TV folks to face the music over actress Aswathy Babu's drug links

Kakkanad, Kochi: The police investigating the case of actress Aswathy Babu, who has been accused of narcotics trafficking, plan to interrogate people from the film and television serial fields. This decision was taken after the police gathered information that several drug parties were staged in her apartment at Palachuvadu and people from the entertainment industry have been regular visitors to her flat.

The interrogation is aimed at finding out whether any of the regular visitors to Aswathy's place had any link to drug trafficking. Huge quantities of the synthetic drug MDMA, which sells at Rs 2,000 per gram, were recovered from her flat during the arrest. According to the police, investigations carried out with her phone number in focus have proven that she has connections with drug dealers in other states including Goa.

A close relative of the actor is also under scanner. The man was arrested earlier for cultivating nearly 30 ganja plants at his residence in Thiruvananthapuram.

Aswathy and her driver were arrested on earlier this month from the parking lot of her apartment at Palachuvadu, Kochi.
