Kochi: The Kerala High Court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Malayalam actor Kollam Thulasi in a case related to making derogatory remarks on the entry of women into the Sabarimala temple.
The court directed him to appear before the investigating officials.
The actor, while addressing a gathering in Kollam, suggested that women entering the Sabarimala temple should be ripped into two. "One half should be sent to Delhi and the other half should be thrown towards Chief Minister's (Pinarayi Vijayan) office in Thiruvananthapuram," he added.
A member of the BJP, Thulasi had fought 2016 assembly elections from Kundra in Kollam.
On September 28, the Supreme Court allowed women of all age groups to enter the Sabarimala temple.
Several right-wing outfits had objected the Kerala government's decision to implement the SC verdict. However, two Kerala women of child-bearing age entered the temple on January 2, triggering widespread protests in the state.
