Chennai: Noted Malayalam music director S Balakrishnan died here on Thursday. He had been undergoing treatment for cancer. He breathed his last around 11 am at his house here. He was 69.

Balakrishnan had composed music for several hit films including 'Ramjirao Speaking', 'In Harihar Nagar', 'Godfather', 'Vietnam Colony' and 'Mazhavil Koodaram'.

He is survived by wife Rajalakshmi, children Sreevalsan and Vimal Sankar.

The funeral will be held at the Besant Nagar crematorium in the evening.
