Over 4.35 lakh students appear for SSLC exam across Kerala
The valuation of SSLC examination papers will be held from in two phases from April 5 till May 2.

Thiruvananthapuram: Boys outnumber girls among the regular students appearing for the Kerala SSLC examinations that began on Wednesday.

A total of 2, 22,527 boys and 2, 12,615 girls are appearing for the SSLC examinations this year. There are 1,42,033 students from government schools while the total number of students from government aided schools are 2, 62,125, with 30,984 students from Unaided schools. A total of 495 students are appearing for the examinations from the schools in Gulf countries, while 682 students are from schools in Lakshadweep. Besides this, a total of 1,867 candidates are appearing for the new scheme as private students with 333 candidates appearing for the old scheme.

Malappuram Educational District has the highest number of SSLC candidates (27,436) students, with Kuttanad Educational District has the lowest number of candidates (2,114). PKMMHS, Edarikode in Tirurangadi Educational District is the centre with the highest number of candidates (2,411) and Govt. Girls HS, Peringara in Thiruvalla Educational District has the lowest number of candidates, with just two students.

In the Technical High School Leaving Certificate (THSLC) examination there are a total of 3,212 students appearing for the examination at 48 centres including 2,957 boys and 255 girls. There is only one centre for the Arts High School Leaving Certificate (AHSLC) examination – Kalamandalam Arts High School, Cheruthuruthy where 82 students will appear for the examination.

The Hearing Impaired section of SSLC has 284 candidates in 29 centres while that of THSLC has 14 candidates at one centre.

Valuation

The valuation of SSLC examination papers will be held from in two phases from April 5 till May 2, in 54 centralised camps.

The first phase will be he held from April 5 – 13 and the second phase will begin on April 21. The appointment orders of the chief examiners and assistant examiners for the valuation camps will be available from the website of Pareeksha Bhavan from March 29 onwards. The scheme finalisation camps will be held on April 2 and 3, at 12 schools in the State.
