Kottayam: The charred body of an 80-year-old woman was found in front of her house at Kanakkary near Ettumanoor in Kerala's Kottayam district. Chinnamma Joseph had been living in the house on the Victor George Road at Pattithanam along with her son, Binu.

When Binu could not find his mother even after 10.45 am on Sunday, he searched the yard and found her dead. Her clothes and hair were completely burned and her face unrecognisable. He immediately called up the local panchayat member, who alerted the Kuravilangad Police.

The police said that they were waiting for an inquest report to clear the mystery. They have also questioned Binu.
