Malayalam singer Biju Narayanan's wife Sreelatha Narayanan passed away in the wee hours of Tuesday.

She was 44. 

Sreelatha was undergoing treatment for cancer. 

The funeral will be held at their residence in Kalamassery at 7.30 pm.

Biju married Sreelatha on January 23, 1998, after 10 years of courtship. Sreelatha was his classmate in Maharajas College, Ernakulam. 

The couple has two sons, Siddharth and Suryanarayanan.  

Biju Narayanan began his playback singing career with the song "Pathu Veluppinu" from the 1993 movie Venkalam composed by Raveendran. He was adjudged the best male singer in the state drama awards in 1996.
