With rain persisting in several areas of the district, the water level at Kakki and Anathode dam in Pathanamthitta is nearing full capacity on Saturday.

According to officials, the red alerts for the reservoir is issued when the water level rises to 978.33m respectively.
The release of water is likely to swell the Pamba river.
