Kochi: The eyes of veteran Congress leader PT Thomas, who died Wednesday, have been donated as he had wished for.

Thomas who held unique sociopolitical views had several noteworthy plans for his death as well. He left a note on November 22 detailing what is to be done at the time of his passing.

As Thomas had asked for, his remains will be cremated at the Ravipuram Crematorium here at 5.30 pm on Thursday. His ashes will later be buried in the family tomb at Upputhodu in the Idukki district, where his mother rests.

No wreaths should be placed on the body. But Vayalar's popular song 'Chandrakalabham Charthi Urangum Theeram' should be played during the cremation, PT had written as soon as he was conveyed the gravity of his medical condition.

Leader of Opposition, VD Satheesan said his family was consulted on the matters and that the late leader's last wishes will be fulfilled.

By 6 am, the body will be brought to his residence at Palarivattom. An hour later, tributes will be paid at the DCC Office, where party workers are expected to assemble.

By 8.30 am, the body will be taken to the Town Hall for public homage, where national leader Rahul Gandhi will pay his respects.

The body will be kept at the Thrikkakkara Community Hall for homage by 1.30 pm and from there the funeral procession will head to Ravipuram.
