Kochi: Two Kochi youth recently bought banned narcotic drugs MDMA and LSD online and got it delivered in Bengaluru via post, revealed an investigation by the Bengaluru Customs department.

The duo later sold the items in Kochi. Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, popularly known as Ecstasy or MDMA, is a synthetic, psychoactive drug. Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), known as acid, is a psychedelic drug. Seizure of the drugs has been reported from various parts of Kerala recently.

The youth ordered the drugs through chat after finding those on a foreign website. Manorama News has got the details of the website which sells the banned substance. One MDMA pill is priced at $80 and 10 gm crystal costs $230, according to the details given on the website.

The excise has not divulged the details of the youth as a probe into the incident is in progress.

Customs sources said there has been an inflow of drugs into Kerala as dealers purchase them from such websites for exorbitant rates. Often they escape thorough checks as they come in posts from abroad.

Earlier it was found that one kg of MDMA seized from Kakkanad in Kochi was delivered in the post from Spain. The investigation agencies have found that the drugs are delivered into the country from Portugal and Cuba.
