BJP led a protest march in Alappuzha over the delay in arresting the accused in the murder of OBC Morcha leader Ranjeet Sreenivas.

Alappuzha: BJP's state general secretary, MT Ramesh, has alleged that sleeping cells of SDPI (Social Democractic Party of India) exists in the units of Kerala Police.

Ramesh was addressing a public gathering here part of a BJP march protesting the delay in arresting the accused in the murder of OBC Morcha leader Ranjeet Sreenivas last month.

The police suspect the attack on Ranjeet to be in retaliation to the murder of SDPI leader KS Shan just hours before in the outskirts of the town, on the night of December 18.

"The Kerala Police must realise that the sleeping cells of SDPI exists within their units," said Ramesh.

"If you are scared to arrest them, give us the list and we will nab them for you," said the BJP leader before adding, "But there will be some scratches and you'll have to take responsibility for that."
