Kochi: It has now come to light that Vishnu Aravind, an approver in the actress attack case, stabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector of Police (ASI) near Edapally Metro Station in Kochi two days ago.
Vishnu was arrested when he tried to escape from the scene after stabbing Elamakkara ASI Girish Kumar when the latter foiled his attempt to steal a bike. The visuals of Vishnu stabbing the ASI have also come out in open.
The police had made this history sheeter, who is an accused in almost 22 criminal cases including theft and extortion, as an approver in the actress attack case.
According to police, Vishnu arranged a mobile phone for Pulsar Suni in jail for calling up actor Dileep. Vishnu reportedly handed over the letter written by Suni to Dileep's manager. The police would be able to link Dileep with the actress attack case through this letter.
As a follow-up, Vishnu became an approver in the case. But he did not appear in court during the trial of the case. Later, the police arrested him and produced him before court during the trial.
