Kottayam: When Amal Raveendran of Chithira, Ayamkudi in Kaduthuruthy in Kottayam tied the knot with K H Anju of Ernakulam, the wedding was celebrated in a big way on social media. Reason: Amal’s attire for the ceremony which was the costume of ‘Minnal Murali’, Malayalam’s own superhero.
Even before the wedding on January 23, Amal had attracted social media attention thanks to the ‘Save the date’ video he shared on December 23 last year, which was a day before the global release of the movie ‘Minnal Murali’ starring Tovino Thomas. In the video, Amal, dressed as Minnal Murali, is seen coming to the rescue of Anju when a thief tries to steal her purse. He again helps her when she lands in another trouble. The video then shows Amal and Anju falling in love.
Along with the video, Amal had shared several of his ‘Minnal Murali’ photos as well as making video on Instagram. After the wedding also, pictures of Amal as Minnal Murali and Anju appeared in his Instagram account. In a video posted after the wedding, Amal and Anju are seen flying like superheroes.
All these photos were shared by the ‘real’ Minnal Murali Tovino, director of the movie Basil Joseph and other celebrities. Even Netflix, which is streaming the movie, has shared these photos.
The idea of ‘Minnal Murali’ photo shoot was that of Jibin Joy of Arthreya Wedding Stories Studio, Mundakkayam. Jibin also was behind the camera.
