KSRTC bans blaring music, loud talk on mobile phone on buses

Thalassery: Phone etiquette is generally given the go-by in public places across India. Bad mobile phone manners especially on public transport are a nuisance to other passengers and a distraction to drivers. The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has directed that from henceforth listening to music over speakerphone or talking loudly over the phone is prohibited while travelling in their buses.

The decision comes in the wake of complaints that loud music on speakerphones and loud phone conversations were causing huge inconvenience to fellow passengers in the KSRTC buses.

The dos and don'ts for using phones will be written in bold letters inside the buses for the benefit of passengers.

The conductor will resolve such complaints arising in the buses in a peaceful manner and request the passengers to comply with the instructions.

The KSRTC issued the order following a complaint given by a lady passenger on February 2.
