5 youths who rented a Kochi flat pretending to be students caught selling drugs

Five youngsters were arrested Wednesday for selling drugs from a flat here that was taken on rent on the pretense of being students.

The gang, comprising a woman, was allegedly selling drugs to school and college children.

Those arrested were Musammil (22) from Malappuram, Sanuraj (24, Kollam), Anandhu S Nair (23, Kothamangalam), Vaishnavi Suresh (23, Edappally), and Abhishek (22, Wayanad).

According to reports, they were purchasing drugs, including MDMA at cheap rates from Bengaluru and selling for Rs 3,500 per gram in Kochi.

When arrested, the gang had 20 gm MDMA in possession.

The racket was busted by a team of District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF) officers from Kalamassery upon the instructions of City Police Commissioner C Nagaraju.

It is understood that the members of the racket were also drug users.
