Idukki: A Kerala policeman was dismissed for leaking information of RSS/BJP activists from the police database to the SDPI.

The action was taken on PK Anas of Karimannoor Police Station in Kerala's Idukki district following an internal probe.

Anas had been served a show-cause notice recently after it emerged that he leaked the personal details of over 150 RSS/BJP workers in Thodupuzha to SDPI, which is the political outfit of Islamic organisation, Popular Front of India.

The issue came to light when a team led by a Narcotic Cell DySP arrested a few SDPI workers. Upon questioning, they revealed the police connection that was later narrowed down to Anas.

According to reports, Anas downloaded details of the RSS/BJP workers from the database and uploaded them onto his personal Gmail account. He later shared the same via WhatsApp with SDPI members.
