Secretary of CPM in Kerala, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said that his party will displace the Narendra Modi-led government from power in the Centre.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the CPM state conference here Friday, Kodiyeri, who was re-elected to the party secretary post earlier on the day, said his party was the answer to the incumbent union government's divisive politics.

"The Pinarayi Vijayan-led government returned to power in Kerala. But we won't stop with just Kerala. We will govern the whole country," said Kodiyeri.

"We will displace the Narendra Modi government. By the next Lok Sabha polls, Modi must be removed.

"The country needs a government that protects secularism and democracy. Kerala can make a significant contribution in that regard," said Kodiyeri.
