Thiruvananthapuram: Overseas loan worth Rs 2,647 crore has been availed so far in over three years under the Rebuild Kerala initiative for reconstruction efforts in the State following the catastrophic floods in mid-2018.

The State government has also signed an agreement to seek a loan worth Rs 2,500 crore from the World Bank and the German development Bank KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau).

Administrative sanction has been given for schemes worth Rs 7,911.48 crore. Of these tenders have been given for Rs 5,434.30 crore worth schemes and contract given for schemes worth Rs 5399.27 crore.

The highest amount, Rs 5,196 crore, has been set aside for re-construction of roads and bridges.

Apart from the allocation for road construction, money has been set aside for agencies like the Kudumbashree.

According to official documents, Rs 939 crore has been utilized through 13 departments. They were allotted Rs 1258.86 crore.

The details of the fund utilization has been given by the Planning and Finance wing of the Rebuild Kerala department in a reply to a query filed by one Govindan Namboodiri under the Right to Information Act.
