Kerala govt will discuss Sabarimala issue with all sections of society: MA Baby

Kannur: The current dispensation at the Centre could turn fascist at any moment, CPM politburo member M A Baby said, adding that the administration has not yet become fascist.

Speaking to Manorama News, he said the participation of Congress leader K V Thomas in a seminar organised as part of the ongoing CPM Party Congress here would be confirmed soon.

Baby also termed Rahul Gandhi's stand 'utterly foolish.'

"A debate on whether the Central government is fascist -- as defined linguistically or intellectually -- is not necessary. The CPM does not consider such a debate necessary now," the politburo member elaborated.

"Even as I speak to you, I am criticising the government machinery. If it was truly fascist, I would not have been able to speak to you, nor could you record and telecast it on your television channel. This has to be understood. However, I would add that the government machinery could turn fascist at any moment. The Modi government is on the verge of turning fascist," Baby opined.

It would be up to the Congress leadership to take a call on where to stand in the national alliances being formed against the BJP government. "The CPM's view is that the battle to oust the fascist RSS-controlled Modu government should be fought at multiple levels. I don't know if Congress has any ideological stand in this regard," he said.

"The Congress lacks clarity on the stand it has to adopt in the broader political movement against the BJP. Rahul came to Wayanad and contested against the CPI, which is part of the Left that has to join with the national movement against the BJP. Narendra Modi and RSS are smiling at Rahul's utter foolishness," Baby said.

"The BJP is of the belief that Rahul Gandhi continuing to lead the Congress will guarantee a better political prospect. It is the responsibility of Congress and Rahul Gandhi to prove the BJP wrong," the CPM leader added.
