MB Rajesh, Speaker of Kerala Legislative Assembly has filed a complaint with the state police chief after it came to his notice that someone was operating a fake WhatsApp account in his name.

Rajesh also took to social media to inform the public about the fraudulent account.

"It has come to my attention that a WhatsApp number 7240676974 having my name and DP (display picture) is being used by someone," Rajesh wrote on Facebook.

The MLA from Thrithala said that the user has been sending out a message: "This is my new number. Please save it."

"Later requests are made from the number. Former minister KP Mohanan informed me after he got one such message. Others might have also received the message. It is possible that such fake accounts can be misused for financial and other purposes," Rajesh said.
