Kozhikode: Police have taken two people into custody in connection with the abduction of a couple in Thamarassery. While the husband Shafi is still missing, the kidnappers pushed his wife, Seniya, out of the car barely 150 metres from their house.
Police said that a month ago, Shafi filed a police complaint against the two in custody for threatening him due to issues about the Rs 1.5 crore transaction between them. His complaint was against Sali Koduvalli and four others, Manorama News reported. Based on the complaint two of the accused were arrested and slapped minor charges. One was let free in a few days, police said. Meanwhile, Seniya said that she is not aware of her husband's financial deals and the abductors didn't look familiar to her.

'Pushed me out as they couldn't lock door'
Seniya said the abductors arrived in a white Maruti Swift with their faces covered. Some parts of the weapons used by the group were found from the couples' courtyard.
Seniya said she was in the sit-out of her house, with her husband and sister-in-law, when the group reached in their car. "They forced us both into the car but for some reason, hey couldn't close the door after pushing me in. That's when they pushed me out.” She was injured on her neck during incident.
Thamarasseri DySP is investigating the case. Police suspect issues following the financial transaction could be the reason behind the abduction.
