Police nab Puducherry man absconding for 20 years

Kannur: Kannavam police on Tuesday nabbed a man who has been absconding for 20 years. Ganesh, a native of Kadalur in Puducherry, was declared a wanted criminal by the court. He was involved in a road accident case, police said.

According to the police, three people had died after a lorry hit them at Nirnalagiri near Kuthuparamba in 2002. Ganesh was driving the lorry. He was arrested and later released on bail. But, he repeatedly refused to appear before the court for trial and then absconded later.

In an extensive effort, Kannavam police traced the hideout of the accused in Puducherry and nabbed him, said SHO Jithesh who led the team that arrested Ganesh.
