Pathanamthitta: Three members of a family from Pathanamthitta, including a two-month-old baby, died in a car accident near Madukkarai, Coimbatore, around 11 am on Thursday.

The victims were identified as Jacob Abraham (60), his wife Sheeba Jacob, and their grandchild Aaron Jacob, all residents of Eraviperoor in Pathanamthitta district. They were en route to Bangalore when the accident occurred.

The incident left Aaron’s mother, Aleena, seriously injured. She was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

According to reports, the Alto car they were travelling in collided with a lorry at Madukkarai. Jacob, Sheeba, and Aaron died at the scene of the accident.

Police have arrested the lorry driver, Sakthivel, in connection with the incident. Investigations are ongoing.
