Kochi: The Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court on Tuesday temporarily stayed the ban that expelled Sandra Thomas from the Kerala Film Producers' Association.
In November, the body had removed Sandra, alleging that she had breached its regulations.

Sandra had moved the court against the Association's decision. The court ruled that she could remain a member until a final verdict was reached in the case. The decision to expel Sandra came after the producers' body accused her of defaming its members by making false and unfounded allegations.

The dispute between Sandra, the producer of 'Little Hearts', and the Association began after the release of the Hema Commission report. Sandra repeatedly criticised the Association for its anti-women stance and claimed that producers were unwilling to address issues faced by women in the Malayalam film industry.
