Piravom: Biju AC, 52, a driver and senior civil police officer of Ramamangalam police station, was found dead at his residence on Tuesday afternoon. According to police sources, Biju was found hanging near the staircase of his house. While the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed, preliminary reports suggest it may be a case of suicide.

Biju, who reported for duty on Monday, returned home around 6 pm. He was scheduled to resume duty at 9 am on Tuesday but failed to turn up. Concerned colleagues attempted to reach him on his phone, but he remained unreachable. When the police reached his residence, they found him hanging. Sources added that the door of the house was not locked from the inside.

Biju is survived by his wife, who works in Kuwait, and their two children. An inquest has been conducted, and a postmortem examination will follow to determine the exact cause of death.
