Tyre debris on runway: Emergency landing for Air India Express flight in Kochi

Kochi: An Air India Express flight was forced to make an emergency landing at the Nedumbassery airport on Tuesday. The aircraft, which had departed from Kochi to Bahrain, was brought back after tyre debris was found on the runway.
The flight had taken off at 10.45 am with 104 passengers and 8 crew members on board. Upon spotting tyre remnants on the runway, authorities immediately instructed the flight to land. The aircraft circled the airport to burn excess fuel before making the landing. Technical experts are currently inspecting the aircraft.
