New Delhi: Air India has temporarily suspended all flights to Europe and five destinations in the US and Canada amid rapidly escalating tensions in the Middle East, becoming the latest global carrier to scale back operations as conflict threatens civilian air traffic. The national carrier announced
Air India wouldn’t use the airspace of some parts of the Persian Gulf as well a safety precaution.
The DGCA report highlights systemic control failures and inadequate internal oversight within Air India's maintenance procedures.
Due to political tensions, night curfews are also in the airspace of many East Asian and European countries.
The assurance comes even as more than 66 Air India flights scheduled to operate with the Dreamliner aircraft were cancelled.
The affected routes include Delhi–Paris, Ahmedabad–London, and San Francisco–Mumbai, with hundreds of passengers either stranded at airports or diverted to alternate arrangements.
Air India has yet to release an official statement regarding the cancellation or compensation plans for the passengers
Dr Shamsheer emphasised that the support for the Ahmedabad air crash victims is not just financial but symbolic too.
The airline has not issued an official statement yet.
The airline said it has established contact with the next of kin/relatives of all passengers and crew members.
