Kochi/ Karnataka: A 76-year-old Malayali, K Alias, was killed in a wild elephant attack in Karnataka's Chikkamagaluru district on Thursday. Alias, a native of Kalady, Ernakulam, was part of a farming family that had migrated to Karnataka a few years ago.

The incident occurred around 11 am in Narasimharajapura taluk when Alias, accompanied by his son, went in search of a buffalo that had wandered off while grazing. The elephant attacked him from behind, inflicting severe head injuries, and he succumbed to his injuries on the spot, reported Manorama News.
