Kochi: At least 75 NCC cadets attending a district-level camp at KMM Arts and Science College, Thrikkakara, were hospitalised on Monday with suspected food poisoning. The students were admitted to Ernakulam Government Medical College Hospital, Kalamassery.
The camp, with approximately 500 participants, started showing up shortly after lunch. A few cadets initially reported discomfort, but more participants began showing signs of food poisoning by evening.
According to the students, the lunch menu included fish and buttermilk, which they suspect might have caused the illness. Medical teams are monitoring the condition of the affected cadets while authorities are investigating the cause of the suspected contamination.
