Alappuzha: The Alappuzha District Court III sentenced a man who killed his father-in-law to life imprisonment on Tuesday. The accused, Anil, a resident of Aroor, was found guilty of stabbing his father-in-law Gopi (70) to death on January 28, 2014.

Judge Ajikumar delivered the verdict. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000. Kuthiathode CI S Ashok Kumar produced the charge sheet in court. Aroor Sub Inspector SS Baiju registered the case.

Civil police officers Rajaneesh Babu and Amal coordinated the prosecution procedures. Additional Public Prosecutor Shari N B appeared for the prosecution.
