Idukki: The Thodupuzha NDPS Court sentenced a 23-year-old to ten years of rigorous imprisonment on Tuesday for handling drugs.

The accused, Muhammad Kaise, a resident of Poothakuzhy, was found guilty of possession and transportation of drugs. Judge Harikumar KN  delivered the verdict. Additionally, the court imposed a fine of Rs 50,000, with an additional six-month prison sentence if the fine is not paid.

Kanjirapilly Sub Inspector Arun Thomas and his team arrested Kaise on January 8, 2023, and seized 0.11 grams of LSD and 0.26 grams of hashish oil based on a tip-off. 

Station House Officer Sunil Thomas filed the charge sheet. Special Public Prosecutor B Rajesh represented the prosecution in the case.
