Kochi: A note from Uma Thomas, written from the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital, has offered hopeful signs about the Thrikkakara MLA's recovery. Despite severe physical pain, Thomas sat up for the first time on Friday since her hospitalisation and wrote down instructions for her children.

Thomas and her children had been staying in a rented house in Karanakodam, while repairs were being carried out at their residence near the Palarivattom Pipeline Junction. The accident occurred as they were preparing to move back to their home.

The note, written in both Malayalam and English, reminded her family to ensure all belongings were moved from the rented house. Doctors are optimistic that ventilator support can be withdrawn within two days.
