Malappuram: A tribal woman from Nilambur's Uchakkulam Colony was killed in a wild elephant attack on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Sarojini (54), wife of Kariyan from Uchakkulam Nagar, Moothhedam.

She had gone into the forest, just behind her house, to graze her goat. Her body was found at 11.30 am.

Ten days ago, a tribal man, Poochappara Mani (40), succumbed to injuries sustained in a wild elephant attack in the interior forest.
