Thiruvananthapuram: Two Maharashtra natives were found dead in a hotel at Thampanoor in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. They were identified as Dattatreya Bamane, 45 and Muktha Bamane, 48. The police said that they hailed from Pune and were siblings. They checked into the hotel on January 17.

On Sunday morning, the hotel staff knocked on the door of their room to serve tea. There was no response and it was found that the room was locked from inside. The staff broke in and found the male hanging from the ceiling fan using a plastic rope. The woman was lying dead on the bed. The police have recovered a note written in English from the room. It said that nobody was responsible for their death. The briefly worded letter further says that they are unemployed.

The police said that they are trying to contact the relatives of the deceased. The cops are also looking at the possibility of a murder-suicide. Preliminary inspection did not reveal any signs of injury or assault on the body of Muktha, police said. The inquest procedure is being completed and bodies will be shifted to Medical college for autopsy. Thampanoor police have recorded a case of unnatural death.
