Kerala police have issued a lookout notice against Malayalam actor Kootickal Jayachandran, aka K R Jayachandran, who is absconding in a POCSO case. Jayachandran is an accused in a case registered at Kasaba police station, Kozhikode, in 2024 on charges of raping a four-year-old girl. The police registered the case based on a complaint filed by the survivor's mother. He has been slapped with charges of rape and relevant provisions of the POCSO act.

The Kerala High Court recently denied anticipatory bail to Jayachandran. Kozhikode sessions court had also denied his bail plea. The survivor's relatives have filed a complaint with the Kozhikode city police commissioner demanding immediate action against Jayachandran.

As per the notice, anyone with information about him has been directed to inform the Kasaba police station, Kozhikode city.
