Visa fraud: Man scams Rs 6 lakh by offering 'jobs' in ships in Abu Dhabi

Thrissur: Puthukkad Police arrested a man for defrauding two Inrinjalakuda natives by promising them visas for jobs in ships in Abu Dhabi.
Police apprehended Aranattukarakkaran Babu (50) from Kallur, Thrissur, who swindled Rs 6 lakh from Irinjalakuda native Athul Krishna and his brother-in-law by promising them Abu Dhabi job visas.
The complainants said Babu used various excuses to delay repaying the money once they realised they would not get the jobs. He even claimed that holidays like Onam and Pongal hindered repayment.
The arrest was made under the directive of Irinjalakuda DYSP KG Suresh. Babu was apprehended from Chengaloor within the Puthukkad Police Station limits.
The probe team included Inspector Aneesh Kareem, SI CM Cleetus, Probation SI CP Jijesh, Senior CPOs ES Jeevan and M Shamnad, and CPOs KS Umesh and MM Shabu.
