Kalpetta: The police team investigating the death of DCC treasurer NM Vijayan on Tuesday raided the Congress Committee office here.

The team headed by Sulthan Bathery DySP Andul Shereef raided the office for 15 minutes in the afternoon. They were accompanied by DCC president ND Appachan, who Vijayan also named in his suicide note. The team raided the house of Congress former treasurer K Gopinathan on Monday.

Vijayan and his physically challenged son Jijesh died by suicide by consuming poison on December 27. The suicide note also exposed the bribe for job scams.

Sources said the raid was to clear some doubts regarding Vijayan's handwriting and some documents connected to the party's financial transactions. Appachan and Gopinathan's three-day interrogation will end on Wednesday, and IC Balakrishnan MLA's three-day interrogation will start on Thursday.

Though the case has been handed over to the Crime Branch, Sulthan Bathery DySP Abdul Shereef will remain the investigation officer.
