Thrissur: Vigilance officials on Friday arrested Vellangallur Village Officer Sasidharan PK for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.

The complainant had applied at the RDO office to revise the fair value of his property. When the application reached the Vellangallur Village Office for inspection, Sasidharan allegedly demanded a Rs 10,000 bribe to submit the report, instructing the complainant to pay Rs 5,000 as the first instalment during the site visit. 

However, the complainant alerted Thrissur Vigilance DySP Jim Paul, whose team, including Inspector Dinesh Kumar and Sub-Inspectors Baiju, Kamal Das, Jayakumar, and Rajan, conducted the operation. Sasidharan was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe.

The team also included Senior Civil Police Officers Arun, Saiju Soman, Vibeesh, Ganesh, Sudheesh, Ranjith, Sijin, and Sreekumar, and drivers Aby Thomas and Rajeev.
