Thodupuzha: A man died after his car caught fire at Perumangandam, Thodupuzha, on Saturday. The deceased, E B Sibi, was found after locals noticed the burning car inside a rubber plantation near his residence. The incident took place around 11:30 am.

Sibi, a retired employee of Kumaramangalam Cooperative Bank, had left home to buy groceries. The locals alerted the fire and rescue department after they noticed the fire. The firefighters reached the spot and extinguished the flames.

Half of his body was severely burned in the blaze. The victim's relatives identified his body. 

The cause of the fire remains unclear. Witnesses reported seeing Sibi driving his car moments before it caught fire. The investigation is ongoing.
