Thiruvananthapuram: A Class 9 student sustained injuries after being stabbed inside a school bus at Nettayam by a Plus One student on Wednesday. The attack was carried out using a lab instrument that was brought for practical purposes. The injured suffered three stab wounds to the face, neck, and head. He was shifted to the Medical College Hospital and is in stable condition, according to sources.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when the school bus reached Malamukku, Vattiyoorkavu. Locals heard students screaming from the bus, which had stopped to drop off another student.

"We saw two students fighting, and after the attack, the assailant threw the knife-like weapon out of the bus window. We later picked it up and handed it over to the police," an eyewitness told Onmanorama. The police held the accused student under the Juvenile Justice Act. According to officials, the attack was motivated by previous enmity.
