Kochi police nab 6, including Pune woman; seize 450gm of MDMA

Kochi: The Kochi Police have seized nearly 450 grams of MDMA along with other banned psychedelic substances from six youths arrested across Fort Kochi and Mattancherry in four separate cases.
The Mattancherry police seized nearly 300 grams of MDMA (valued at around Rs 15 lakh), 6.8 grams of ganja, and Rs 3 lakh in cash from Rifaz (27) and Ayisha (39) based on a tip-off. Their arrests led to others being nabbed, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Aswathy Jiji T
In a follow-up probe, Mattancherry natives Sajeer (28) and Adnan Sawad (22) were arrested from a house in Ayyan Master Lane, where the police seized 29.26 grams of MDMA, 9.41 grams of hashish oil, and 4.64 grams of hybrid ganja.
Additionally, Mattancherry natives Shanjal (34) and Muhammed Ajmal (28), who allegedly supplied drugs, were arrested from a house in Fort Kochi, with 13.91 grams of ganja seized. Although 100.89 grams of MDMA were found at Badusha’s residence in Veli, Palluruthy, he remains at large.
DCP Jiji confirmed that investigations are ongoing into the source and financial trails of the drug deals. Cases have been registered at Mattancherry, Fort Kochi, and Palluruthy police stations. The operations were carried out by teams from these stations and members of the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force.
