With southwest monsoon conditions intensifying across Kerala, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain or thundershowers at most places in the state over the next seven days, up to July 21.

The rain is expected to be triggered by strong westerly to north-westerly winds prevailing over the region in the lower tropospheric levels. In view of the anticipated downpour, the IMD has issued orange and yellow alerts across various districts.
