Kottayam: St Xaviours LP School in Vattakkavu has been given a vibrant facelift by its alumni who returned to give back to their alma mater. A team of 25 students, who completed Class 10 two years ago, came together to repaint the school and adorn its classrooms with educational artwork.

The walls now feature illustrations aligned with the curriculum, maps, national emblems, portraits of freedom fighters, the solar system, alphabets, multiplication tables and more. The initiative was led by Sivashankar, Arjun, Sharon, Helen, Joyal, Alex and Danny, who dedicated their evenings and holidays to the project.

Local MLA Sebastian Kulathunkal lauded the team for their efforts. The group is now working with the school to set up a vegetable garden on campus. Beyond academics, many of these students are also active in karate and chenda serving as role models for the community.
